About us
We started with zero followers and a love for San Diego.
The story behind Hello San Diego, how it became Hello Scale, and the two people running both.
The Hello San Diego story
From a weekly post to a local network.
We started Hello San Diego in March 2026 to show off the people and places that make this city great, build community, and give back. No audience, no ad budget. Just a love for San Diego and a plan to share it every week.
Along the way, we got to know a lot of local business owners through story features and reel collabs, and we kept hearing the same thing: they love what they do, but social media isn't it. They don't have the time, it's a whole skill set of its own, or they just don't enjoy it.
We could share tips, but that doesn't make marketing your passion. Your business is. So we started Hello Scale to run social, email, and paid marketing for San Diego businesses, using the same strategies that built Hello San Diego, with our network behind you. All with the goal to help local business owners be seen.

Co-Founder
Will Routt
Will is a licensed San Diego real estate broker and the on-camera face of Hello San Diego and AskWill.
Will has called San Diego home for 16 years. He started Hello San Diego to give back to the community that’s given him so much and to build real relationships with the people who make this city special. For Will, real estate has always been about more than transactions. It’s about connecting people with the places and neighbors that shape their lives.

Co-Founder
Maddie Breaux
Maddie runs marketing across Hello San Diego and Hello Scale, handling everything from planning and filming content to publishing every post.
She grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana, and moved west to study psychology at the University of San Diego, where she fell for the city almost immediately. Her plan was a PhD in clinical psychology, but a break after graduation changed her direction. She realized marketing brings together everything she loves: psychology, communication, relationships, business, writing, and creative work. When she found Hello San Diego, she discovered the project and her career at the same time.
At the core of her work is a passion for helping others. Whether she’s helping a local business owner reach the right customers or sharing stories that connect San Diegans to their city, Maddie’s mission is to help people and businesses across San Diego spend more time on what they’re passionate about.
When she’s not working, you’ll find her surfing, running, hitting the gym, or soaking up the sun at the beach.
